A new Bahamian author launches his motivational book this Thursday in an effort to help Men to Achieve and providing a “workbook” in order for people to chart their course to better living.

Warren Andrew Pinder, told Caribbean Magazine Plus that his first book, “ACHIEVE-MEN,” was inspired by an early morning COVID-19 brainstorm where he decided to create an inspirational book for men, but anybody can enjoy it.

He detailed the origin of the idea for the book: “This book is for everyone. I specifically geared it towards men, but anyone can use it. It’s just a concept that came to mind at 3am one morning.

The book was written during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and took him roughly six months to compile and write and another year and a half to find a publisher to take it to the next level where his book launch is this February 17. The book will be available in hard copy and audio format for $19.99 and in e-book for $9.99 on Amazon.

Mr Pinder also said: “It was a 3am morning and I woke up with this in my mind. This speaking of achievement and how I can set this goal and then I started to put the words in place.” He came up with seven words that anyone could work with and made it a theme for the book.

He continued, “There book just came. I don’t know, it could be spiritual. It could have been just something that God put in my mind to do. But I think that for young men in particular I feel as if some of them could be not knowing how to move to the next level. I feel as if this, this would assist to help them to do so.”

He added: “Whatever you wish to do, you have to take action, you have to start to do something, you have to start and with starting you have to chart that course. The course would either take you however you want to go.”

The book’s title “ACHIEVE-MEN” is not just some random phrase or two words haphazardly slung together in a glib manner, but the word Achieve is an acronym which he detailed as: “Each chapter speaks about something, like A means Action, C is for Charting your course, H is for removing your Hurdles, Intensity in seeking out how bad you want something, the Effort that you put in, the Value and principles that you believe and stand for and lastly Earning that which you worked had to achieve.”

Mr Pinder also said: “The book should be read for anyone that’s really seeking out their purpose and trying to achieve, ultimately, the goals that they set forth. The simple seven steps works as a guide to them that they must take action. People often say that if you if you believe then you can achieve, but there is a step that’s missing, but if you don’t act you can believe as much as you want. But you want to take that action and in doing so, you must chart a course.

“However, it’s just a directional compass that that people should actually want to follow. So, all of these steps are just guiding you and in the back of each chapter there are activities to do.  So, this probably will end up being a workbook, I’m pretty certain that.”

Mr Pinder is not new to generousity and shares his time between work as an executive vice president of a large development company in The Bahamas and also is the president of the Scout Association of The Bahamas, so he mentors’ young men as a practice. “From my time teaching at the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute, I always found myself mentoring young men,” he said.
