CARICOM Secretariat facilitates workshop on Public Procurement in Saint Lucia

June 27, 2023

The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat is next week carrying out training on the Community Public Procurement Notice Board (CPPNB) with the private and public sectors in Saint Lucia.

This activity is supported under the 11th European Development Fund (EDF) Strengthening Framework for CARICOM Integration and Cooperation Process (SFCICP). The training will focus on developing and implementing strategies that improve efficiency and transparency including the CSME Public Procurement Regime. Participants will also be exposed to e-procurement solutions during the session from 26 to 28 June 2023.

The CPPNB is an integrated Notice Board with 13 National Advertising Portals (NAPs) which CARICOM Member States should use to publish procurement opportunities and contract awards notices in keeping with commitments under the Community Public Procurement Protocol. To date, Barbados and Belize are the two Member States that have made use of their National Advertising Portal to publish procurement opportunities.

The training activity in Saint Lucia will be facilitated by Mr. Titus Preville, Director, CARICOM Single Market and Trade; Mr. Philip McCLauren, Senior Technical Coordinator, CSME; and Mr. Derek Browne, Information Technology Specialist.
