EDITORIAL: China keeps upping the ante

July 11, 2023

Less than a month after US Vice President Kamala Harris came in to the Caribbean to “pledge” $100m for the region for various initiatives, with climate change being the primary initiative, we have The People’s Republic of China swooping in to Honduras with a $20bn transoceanic highway project for Honduras, for one country, as part of the Belt and Road initiative.

You see what we mean about the US, supposedly the wealthiest country in the world, being cheap and counting pennies and want international cooperation for it? China just swooped in a promised $20bn… BILLION… for one country, but the US is scrambling and making a big deal about $100m to fix the damage they created. My God has America gotten that bad where they really cannot see how bad this looks?

But yet we will stick with America because they are our friends. But they are not being the wealthy and generous friend they used to be as in years gone by. They have allowed capital to fill them with greed, which has made them stingy and that it a great sin.

While they are patting their back pockets to drop us some of their spare change, China is doing big things, country by country and they are building things. Looking forward to the future. All of these American think tanks can badmouth China all they want, but they are putting their money where their mouth is and helping out substantially.

I’m not even sure we need a transoceanic rail way from China to Honduras. LOL! That’s what makes it so gaudy and sickening to even think about. But China is willing to spend $20bn to get it done, or at least fail at it.

We need to say no more. It is what it is.
