December 15, 2023
We want to wish our readers a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. This year has zoomed by very quickly. Usually, we do a review, but we stood back and realized that this year was filled with a lot of quick hits all over the place, but nothing particular noteworthy that comes to mind to highlight.
Notwithstanding Venezuela wanting to invade Guyana over the Essequibo region, everything else is rather tame. We had Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Mottley, being Mia Mottley, as usual. She must have her regional colleagues jealous because the global elites are snubbing them for her. heheh… Now they know how the poor people feel when you dismiss them for the newest bootlicker in the camp who had little to no hand in securing your victory. Now you feel the hurt and pain of the rejection and of being left out of the discussion when you have something to add to the matter too.
We also have the ongoing conflict in Guatemala and how they are freezing out the incoming President, Bernardo Arevalo. But this just underscores how bloodthirsty Central American politics really is. Nothing more to see here.
The only other thing that is worth mentioning is that the Caribbean tourism economy roared back in 2023. The rebound was faster than anyone anticipated. That was good news this year.
But, other than those three main items, nothing else rings to mind that is worth a mention at the end of the year. Sorry if this offends you. We wish not to, but again, enjoy the remainder of 2023 and try to make some New Year’s resolutions that you can stick to.
Dear friend Youri Kemp, 2023 is coming to an end, there are only a few days left until Christmas Eve and also for the New Year. My best wishes are that you have a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year, but above all I ask my God to shower you with blessings. Raúl Ignacio José Arana Irías, your friend and reliable servant.
