What can we say about former BVI Premier Andrew Fahie, other than to stay strong? He stands to receive up to life when the sentencing part of his conviction comes down this March. Quite frankly, Fahie was a bit too cocky and arrogant while he was in office in any event and while I’m sure he has his supporters, none of them can help him where he is now.
What’s shocking is that his co-defendants all turned on him, pointing him as the ring leader in all of this cocaine smuggling? Anyway, he got what the American law said he should get for his crime. Next time, don’t be so stupid. Wait, there won’t be a next time. Well, then, let this serve as a lesson to all of you people watching: There is a price to pay for cocaine trafficking to the US and the “Feds” get a hold of you, they latch on and don’t go.
We will pray for Andrew Fahie as much as we will pray for former Prime Minister of Dominica, Edison James. Roosevelt Skerrit is taking no chances with the Opposition in Dominica. He has them under wraps to the point of oppression and victimization now.
When you see a Magistrate or judge of any country, decide they are going to arrest any politician, let alone a former leader, then you are coming close to authoritarianism.
The 80 plus year old James was granted bail for incitement. We won’t get into opinions about the matter. However, no one in Dominica should take this lightly.
