Storms only last for a time, but they soon disappear. A general sigh of relief can be heard around the Western Hemisphere now that the Panama Canal is adding more transits daily.
This is fantastic news. Now we may be able to see prices come down slightly after this summer, barring any other catastrophe.
The Panama Canal is so important to our daily living in the region, but yet we dismiss it and take it for granted. We have been conditioned into not valuing our money and so even a 10 cents increase can turn into $100 and we just sit and take it.
But, glory to God, we will come out of this.
The other point of note is this Afreximbank conference happening in The Bahamas. Why on earth are the descendants of the people that sold us to the Europeans so interested in us now? It beats me. But I will advise caution on dealing with any new friends. We don’t know what they really want or what they are up to.
Other than that we should always welcome guests to our shore. We just have to be mindful on how our guests come in as trojan horses.
