The Caribbean Magazine Plus annual Poetry Contest is flowing smoothly, already. We have received quite a few entries already and it has only been the first month.
We believe in the creative industries and Caribbean talent, wholeheartedly. We are with the innovators and creators, to the end.
The thing is, when we think about the creative industries, we only think about musicians and songwriters. While they are foremost, there are a while list of writers, poets- both written and spoken word- and other performance artists that need our attention too. There is also a long line of visual artists and painters, sculptors and word carvers that need spotlight too.
If only we can wrap our mind around finding an outlet for all of them the way we have found with our poetry and short story contests. We just have not had a premier notion to do it. But give us time, we will find it.
But we encourage all of the young, aspiring poets to enter into our poetry contest. Give yourself a chance.
