In case you were living under a rock, Israel and the Palestinian based political group, Hamas, have reached a cease fire agreement that sees the latter release Western hostages and the former to stop the barrage of gunfire and missiles into Palestinian territory.
We have to thank God. It was just last week where incoming US president, Donald Trump, told Hamas to release these hostages before he is sworn in officially next week or else “all hell will break loose in the Middle East.” You don’t want it any clearer than that.
Since the October 7, 2023 attacks, both sides have been hard at it with Israel getting the better of the Palestinians, totally decimating pockets in their territory and taking more ground.
In the mean time, Hamas has taken several hostages but never got to the point of their initial October 7 attack.
It was a massacre. So many people killed, so much treasure waster. We’re glad it has come to an end.
There most likely will never be peace, but at least there is a cessation of violence for the time being.
