COMMENTARY: ADMIRATION AND RESPECT FOR THE PRINCIPAL, ADMINISTRATION, AND STUDENTS OF THE YOUNG WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP SCHOOL IN MANHATTAN USA

The female students who are excelling in their Art class at the Young Women’s Leadership School and their Art Teacher,  Miss Kramer are admirable for their creativity,  resourcefulness and the potential they hold for making a huge difference and impact in their School and in the community.

The students  Arts are offering a unique avenue for self – expression,  cultural preservation and  community engagement,  also their proficiency in these areas are a source of pride for both the students themselves, their teachers and their school.

The Principal Miss Collen Mc Geehan, Assistant Principals MissMedina del Castillo and Miss Alexa Allen, believes that the Art provide a space for students to explore their creativity and express themselves in unique ways. The excellent students at the Young Women’s Leadership School, not only master skills,  but also demonstrate innovation and ingenuity in their work.

Art teacher Miss Kramer is providing opportunities for her students to develop their confidence,  to build  self – esteem and explore their identities. She believes that her students who excel in the Arts contribute to a more vibrant and dynamic society. She gives much attention to the teaching and learning of creative  Art education. 

Without adequate teaching and learning materials for the students to help facilitate learning of the  creative Art. Art education cannot be efficiently taught and learnt.

Education in Art is an essential part of a balance education at the Young Women’s Leaderships School,  as it is helping the students to develop their creativity,  and problem solving abilities,  as it helps them to become well – rounded individuals and prepare them for a bright future.

These female students work need to be showcased for their skills and dedication to their Arts. These featured examples  highlight the diverse range of talent and creativity of these young female students and their dedication to Art that are prevalent in their school.

With every passing day  the Administration at the Young Women’s Leaderships School of Manhattan are increasingly gratified and motivated by the process their students are making towards a full realization of their vision, which is to do well in High school,  excel in their studies,  and to become the best they  can be, students of excellence.

The students at the Young Women’s Leaderships School has made remarkable progress over the years. They are driven by renowned commitment to  rigorous career that would lead them to meaningful employment and successful pursuit of higher level studies.

Principal Coleen Mc Geehan says ” our students are  profiting from new and innovative  approaches to learning. We are proud of them, we admire them and we respect their potential”. This statement and sentiment was welcomed by the school administration overseeing the teaching staff and ensuring  Curriculum and discipline standards are met.

They ensure that every students succeeds, they are the visionaries who bring dreams to life for their students.

The Principal,  Assistant Principals,the Dean are all committed to their students and their learning.  These administrators are committed to their students and their learning. These accomplished administrators are dedicated to making knowledge  accessible to all students,  they also understand how students develop and learn.

They are models of Education, persons exemplifying the virtues they seek to inspire in their students, curiosity, tolerance , honesty,  fairness, respect for diversity and appreciation of cultural differences,  and the capacities that are prerequisites for intellectual growth,  the ability to reason and take  multiple perspectives,  to be creative and take risks, and to adopt an experimental and problem – solving  orientation.

The Administrators at the Manhattan Young Women’s Leadership School are making their voices heard and are transforming education, history, science, health,  Art throughout the community.

The DOE must study and look to replicate some extremely successful programs that have proven that good grades are not beyond poor and minority kids from tough backgrounds.

We need curricula that do not compromise setting high expectation for our kids and ensuring they have the tools to meet them.  This is not about appearances or demeanor.  It’s about learning from real things, from facts. For the students academic  and social support is critical.

From 6th grade to 12th grade, the teachers at the Young Women’s Leaderships School maintain a high expectation of all students,  working intensively  Ono- on – one with them until they comprehend every important concept.  

The teachers are making science and math education,  and every other subject that they teach more practical and hands – on. The school  is making education more effective and are making sure that the students receive an education that opens up the possibility of meaningful university and college careers afterwards.

What the students and administrators sees in their Principal,  is her honesty that apprsises her talents. It is written all over her face and manner. She expresses a sincere love for her staffs and students like nobody else. She is generous with everyone around her. She is a Principal who knows how to show respect for her own power and others.

There is not one word to describe Principal Collen Mc Geehan, a woman of superb excellence,  dynamic,  helpful,  sincere,  educated and successful.  She associates with everyone, active, friendly, inspiring,  and inspirational. There is so much one can say about her.

Her administrators and students have nothing but love, respect and admiration for her. A Principal with so many superb qualities.
