Have you ever had a revelation that God was speaking to you? Most of us have and that is not a crazy thing. Well, not all the time because some of us do hear voices in our head that is not of God and quite dangerous too, but a little bit of medication would solve that problem.
But has God ever spoken to you? Many of us don’t realize even now during this pandemic that God is speaking to us, quite directly. Turn back to him and he will heal us. No one else can.
But God has multiple ranges in which he speaks to his people. His select people. People he has chosen to do his special work. It’s not all about Bishops and Reverends either. Some of us have the anointing and we don’t even know it yet.
For example, have you ever gone to Church one day and said that this pastor/minister is speaking directly to me and he doesn’t even know me? How did he know I was suffering with this problem? How does he know what is on my mind right now? Thing is, the pastor doesn’t know. It is God speaking through him to get your attention.
Pay attention kids. This is important now.
When God cannot get your attention by talking directly to you from the pulpit, the next thing will be calamity and heartache, and it is something you can live without if you don’t have to. Why suffer the cross when Jesus did that already for you? God bless our Muslim and Jewish brothers and sisters, but Jesus died for all of us. No disrespect to the Prophet Mohammed or the saviour to come for the Jews, but Jesus has paid the price already.
When disaster strikes and nothing is working, praise God because he is getting your attention so that you can train your thoughts on him. Don’t you forget it when he brings you out of the darkness either. Some of you, like me one time in my life, backslid and forgot who brought me to the dance. Forgot that it was God Almighty who made the promise to me, thinking that I can do it all on my own. I found out the hard way.
I will tell you right now, if it has not happened to you already, nothing has to work in your life. At all. Everything will be undoable and unfixable until you turn it over to the Lord. So when you go to Church the next time or turn on your television and you hear the pastor speaking, listen up. He means you!
So when God speaks to you, be prepared to listen to understand. For example, I kept going to church and church hopping for years and a different pastor always told me, “I don’t need your money,” not directly to me but always from the pulpit in a sermon. I was left wondering how does a different pastor know to tell me the same thing over and over and over again? You see, I thought just coming to church and putting money in the offering would give me luck and prosperity. Hah, was I wrong. God doesn’t need your money. It’s worthless to him.
Other little things over time too, some of them very intimate and those are just for me alone right now. I was always in tuned with what the pastor was saying, but never took it to mean me right then. I was a little dense and self-absorbed.
I got over that quickly when I looked around and took stock and realized nothing I did on my own worked out the way I had planned. Nothing! But everything I planned through the Lord came through. Everything! I don’t think it will change any time soon either once I put my trust in the Lord and learn to listen and realize it is in his hands.
Now I’m at the stage now that I not only hear what he is telling me, I am trusting it more often. He has gotten my attention. Now I’m on the stage where I’m asking him to direct my path in everything I want to do. Actually, I don’t want to do anything unless he tells me to. I need that direction. If I want a cup of tea on the morning God must guide that kettle with my teabag. Yup!
I’m waiting in anticipation for the next stage in God’s behaviour to be revealed to me that I have been missing out on. I know too to wait on him, he will renew your strength and make your paths straight. Calm down, he will do it!
