Internationally renowned recording artist Bay-C pays homage to the beautiful and talented females in dancehall music, from then til now, in his latest song titled “Dancehall Queens“. The TOK group member and solo artist gives a breath of fresh air into dancehall with this one as he compliments and glorifies the ladies rather than demean or objectify them.
“Dancehall Queens” mentions several popular figures and is a 100% tributary track, the first of its kind, as there is nothing disrespectful said towards any of the females. Neither did Bay-C roast anyone or say anything derogatory, rude or insulting nor did he use any lewd language and is therefore a clean track suitable for airplay everywhere. Though he calls them the ‘sexiest‘, “Dancehall Queens” is not raunchy at all.
The track is a remix to “Kehlani“, a hip-hop song by a young rapper named Jordan Adentunjii, which he did in tribute to R&B artist Kehlani. Bay-C flipped it in an unusually unique way, putting his own dancehall and reggae flair to the freestyle refix.
YRush from Zip 103FM mixed, mastered and has fully endorsed “Dancehall Queens“. D’Angel, who was mentioned in the track, was present in studio at the time of recording and has publicly supported it. Since its release, Posh Morris, Davianah and Renee 6:30 have given positive feedback on social media. So far, the response has been very encouraging.
“It’s been getting crazy response,” states Bay-C. He continues, “It’s just been a positive feedback so far.”
“Dancehall Queens” is available on Bombrush TV channel on YouTube since October 24.
