St Lucia luxury resort to create 500 direct jobs to the island when completed, sales have already exceeded $50m.
Kristine Thompson, chief executive officer of Cabot St Lucia, told Caribbean Magazine Plus: “Cabot will spend hundreds of millions of dollars in construction over 10 years in five phases. In the first phase, which will be concluded in November 2022, we will build a world class golf course, a beach bar and pool, a fitness centre and sports facility, a temporary clubhouse, five villas and a number of beachfront flats.”
Thus far Cabot has made land sales that have exceeded $50m on 24 lots on Point Hardy on the island of St Lucia. “Cabot Co-founders Ben Cowan-Dewar and Mike Keiser long-awaited the perfect opportunity to expand the Cabot brand internationally following the success of its first resort in Nova Scotia, Cabot Cape Breton. Ben Cowan-Dewar visited various destinations across the globe, but nothing spoke to him quite like the Cabot Saint Lucia site. The spectacular setting, wonderful people of Saint Lucia, stellar year-round weather and number of direct flight paths all contributed to the decision,” Ms Thompson added.
Ms Thompson also told us about the difficulties in marketing the Cabot brand during this COVID-19 period and said, “COVID has made things difficult for all industries, but we’re fortunate to have a skilled and connected sales team that quickly adapted to the evolving market and changing consumer needs.
“Our Director of Sales is based on the ground in Saint Lucia and has excelled at virtual showings. We are also lucky to have many brand loyalists who are already familiar with the Cabot team, unparalleled service, world-class golf and amenities, and luxury home offerings. Interestingly, COVID has fueled the demand for single family homes in beautiful places outside of urban areas where multi-generational families can gather and spend quality time together.”
Ms Thompson estimates that the Cabot will create over 500 direct jobs in St Lucia with an “additional 200 during the construction phase.”
When fully completed in 2025, the resort will feature a world-class 18-hole course, a residential community of 320 homes, a boutique 40-suite hotel, spectacular clubhouse, beach bar, three restaurants and a state-of-the-art spa.
And it will all be for non rich non nationals as pretty much all nationals will be priced out. More sell g our country to rich white folk.
