CARICON, a project of the Los Angeles based non-profit Jamaica Cultural Alliance, and The FUNtastic Book Fair, a premier literary event, are pleased to announce a new partnership for the upcoming 2023 event.
As part of this partnership, Jamaal Augustine (EPG Creative Marketplace) & Kesha Christie (Talkin’ Tales) will act as the official representatives for CARICON in Canada. This partnership will enable the FUNtastic Book Fair to resell CARICON packages to authors.
“We are excited to partner with The FUNtastic Book Fair to bring our literary organization to a wider audience,” said V. Steve Russell, Director for CARICON. “This partnership will allow us to reach more authors who otherwise would not be able to make the trip to Los Angeles, while offering a wider display of books to our audience.”
The FUNtastic Book Fair is equally excited about this partnership. “We are thrilled to be partnering with CARICON, a leading literary organization,” said the spokesperson for The FUNtastic Book Fair. “This partnership will allow us to provide even more opportunities and exposure for Caribbean authors in Canada, and we look forward to working together to make CARICON 2023 event a huge success.”
As part of this partnership, Jamaal will also participate as a DJ in the CARICON Soundclash on Saturday, June 3rd. Both entities will also exchange logos on their respective websites and do joint marketing to promote the conference.
CARICON 2023 will be held at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles from June 3-4. This two-day event will feature a wide variety of literary activities, including book signings, author readings, and panel discussions.
