The Chief of the Mission of Foreign Visitors (MVE) of the Organization of American States (OAS) to the process of revocation of the presidential mandate in Mexico, Fernando Tuesta Soldevilla, and another person from his team tested positive today for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19).
Both are isolating and have suspended all in-person activities. Both are in good health and under medical supervision.
All other members of the Mission underwent tests that came back negative. The Mission will continue to test on a regular basis. All members of the Mission received negative tests before traveling to Mexico.
The OAS Mission will continue to follow protocols established by the Mexican government, and will continue to work on a hybrid basis to observe the process of revocation of mandate in Mexico, which will take place on Sunday, April 10.
