The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, together with the Minister of Tourism, David Collado met with hotel businessmen and representatives of the tourism sector of this city, in which the beginning of the Plan of relaunch of the province, which will include a series of projects and initiatives that will give a new impulse to recovery to the Bride of the Atlantic.
At the meeting, held in one of the rooms of the Emotions By Hodelpa Playa Dorada, the president listened to presentations and concerns from each of the hotel businessmen and main actors in Puerto Plata tourism and private banking, on the pre and post pandemic situation, development prospects and the new Plan launched in this coastal province, among other topics of interest.
“We will meet here to make a great relaunch for the entire amber coast and Puerto Plata, which we will present to hoteliers and developers,” the head of state told reporters upon entering said establishment, and in the company of the minister Administrative Officer of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, Minister Collado and officials of the Tourism Cabinet.
The meeting took place as part of the busy schedule of activities carried out by the president together with Collado, throughout this Thursday that began with the inauguration of a wastewater treatment plant and impulsion line in the Luperón municipality, with a higher investment at 300 million pesos.
At his entrance to the meeting, Abinader was accompanied by the American actor and film producer Vin Diesel, who accompanied the president at the main table at the meeting with the senator for the province Ginette Bournigal and other officials.
On this series of activities, Minister Collado expresses; “We are putting our soul, mind and heart in this province, because we believe in the great potential it has.”
“We will make it stronger, with more opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs, and we will make it one of the most visited destinations in the Caribbean,” said the head of Mitur.
Prior to this meeting, President Abinader, Minister Collado and their team visited the coastal area of Luperón where they had lunch in a private meeting with investors where they discussed the issue of boosting shipping tourism in the area.
