EDITORIAL: Are we there yet?

That is the only thing on the mind of everyone in the world on this COVID-19, is “are we there yet?”… on the vaccine primarily, on the reduction of the infections, on the herd immunity, on the end of lockdowns and curfews and the resumption of modern life.

Many of us had high hopes for 2021. Don’t dash those hopes yet. We still have a ways to go. I suggest you pray and still look forward. If you are alive, I am sure you have had some “wins” this year.

I promised myself not to be so whiney and complainey for 2021. We made it through 2020, which was possibly the brunt of it due to the shock of it all, so just harden your hearts, guard your loins and just get on with it.

Vaccines are in the air. The Indians have a vaccine now. Great, now they just have to vaccinate that side of the world. I could have sworn the Chinese would have done with all of the East Asian countries from North Korea to Indonesia. If they haven’t, then something is wrong with the Chinese vaccine.

Many of us have gone into another round of lockdowns because we can’t sit our asses still. If you can’t follow a simple instruction to save your life then God help you.

But, back to the point, most governments are pegging the end of Spring for the mass roll out of vaccines across their countries. For the West, the Moderna and the Pfizer vaccines are what’s the yap in the trap.

So, we will soon be there. The Turks and Caicos already has vaccines in their territory. So the rest of us must be next. Dear God let us be next!
