Blessed is the one who comes in the name of The Lord. We are entering into the holiest week of the Christian calendar, Easter. The week where we see our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, tried, tested, executed and resurrected for our benefit. Hallelujah!
Now, we understand many don’t appreciate the Passion of the Christ. That’s fine. What you can do is respect our observance and read a little more into the life and time of Jesus Christ, who was a very real person as archaeologists have said emphatically. He did miracles and was tried and crucified by Roman Governor Pontius Pilate. Archaeologists have even confirmed the life and times of Pontius Pilate and many of the apostles, namely Peter and Paul.
The fact that Jesus died for our sins is significant within itself. For example, just take a look around you, in your office place or your house and then ask yourself which one of those people around you would sacrifice their lunch for someone else in that space? Better yet, ask yourself if you would sacrifice your lunch for someone who is hungry?
This is the big question for this Easter. Christ has already died for our sins. We have been redeemed. The message should be for us the living and what are we willing to do to sacrifice for someone else or something else? That’s what this Lenten season should have been about. But, if you did not have a chance to think about it well you have other chances to do so. You can take this time and acknowledge why some of us observe this season in the seriousness and then make an effort in your own time to sacrifice your time and treasure for something else other than yourself.
So, that is my screed to my readers before we enjoy our Easter holidays with worship and praise and humble reflection over my own frail life and what I would have or could have done.
With that being said, as the title of this Editorial said, we will be back next week Tuesday, April 11, 2023. No magazine this Good Friday, April 7. Enjoy!
P.S.
The short story contest announcement will soon come. Dr Hunte is still evaluating scripts. Be patient with us.
