Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Mottley during her recent visit to Paris, France for the United Nation’s Summit for New Global Financing Pact, told French President Macron and all of the developed country participants to reflect deeply on the damage they have caused to the developing world as she tried to spur them to action on climate change promises.
This is the kind of approach we need now against these developed countries. We tried the butt-kissing route and we also tried the begging route. But what is needed now is a nagging annoying approach that only a female, or female at heart, could bring. We must remember through all of her tough, smart talk and pant-suits, she is still a woman. That means she can be as annoying, snarky, sarcastic and insulting as womanly possible.
She too did remind them of the disaster clauses they promised at the COP26 event. LOL… Hound them to tears, Ms Mottley.
I say go for it until they feel the prick in their spirit to do something. The Bridgetown Initiative too is something they need to get behind. This is the foremost thing.
Right now Barbados is being lashed by Tropical Storm Bret. No doubt Ms Mottley came back to a Barbados that needs post-storm assessments. It cannot be a pleasurable experience especially when you were just in the audience of not only the people who are seen to be at fault, but the people who have the power and resources to do something about it. So, How dare they, waste our time with empty promises.
Keep on them.
