EDITORIAL: Quick hits!

The Summit of the Americas is over and two of the countries that were left out, Cuba and Venezuela, still had a small chance to address the Summit in the season but not on the platform. Of course as socialist-leaning countries they played up solidarity and US imperialist abuse, but it is what it is. We have what they said this week for you.

Another hurricane forming. WE are now getting used to these weather formations now. But I have learned from a boy that unless it is bearing down and you are in the direct path of the storm, then you may as well chill out. Makes no sense trying to prepare for something that may not come. When a hurricane comes you will know.

This Stony Coral Disease is killing our reefs. The reefs is what our fish stocks depend on and we depend on the fishes for food and finance. We have to give our scientists in the field every ounce of our expertise and fibre to help them with the resources to turn back the degradation of our coral reefs.

The Caribbean Development Bank is having their round of meetings this week. We will have more content on that in our Friday edition. They had a few things last week, but the Summit of the Americas was on and no one could pay attention to them at that time.
