St Vincent and the Grenadines shipped its first batch of medical cannabis to Germany this week. It’s been a long time coming for someone in the Caribbean to start moving that weed in earnest. The multi billion dollar cannabis market is huge and the benefits of it can only bode well for any country that finds a ready market for great marijuana.
So far, Jamaica, Antigua and Barbuda and SVG, all have legalized marijuana. Jamaica was first out of the gate, we hope they allow the small growers to take advantage of the benefits.
If I smoked marijuana I would light one up right now, but we don’t smoke and neither do we advocate for anyone to use marijuana or any type of drugs. We do realize that cannabis has medicinal purposes and if used in moderation it can help people with a lot of their chronic pain and neurological problems.
All hail Queen Mia in Barbados. She pulled a fast one on the opposition, called an early election and took them by surprise. The opposition Democratic Labour Party were clearly unprepared and not ready for an election, but such is life.
What will Ms Mottley do now that she has a reset on her agenda that she claims was derailed in the previous term by COVID-19? We just have to wait and see. We wish her and Barbados all the best, particularly after having ditched Queen Elizabeth II as its head of state and becoming a republic. Quite a feat.
Have a good weekend folks.
