The new United Nations IPCC report shows that the developed countries are still killing us slowly with their carbon emissions. What is so hard to turn the corner on this and turn to cleaner forms of energy?
The matter has been decided- human action is at fault of the increase in global temperatures. No one with any credibility debates anything different now. The evidence is clear.
Yet, not only have developed countries continued on their path of high carbon emissions, but they have doubled down and increased carbon emissions to the point where it outstripped developing countries seven times over even as developing countries too increased their carbon emissions. Essentially, no one cares anymore. The big Glasgow, Scotland Climate Showdown they billed a few months back was what it was, all talk.
I guess we have to give the larger countries time to make more changes to their energy output. But to increase their carbo emissions seven times over since 2010 is absolutely unacceptable.
We cannot leave this matter for the next generation. We must do something meaningful right now. To understand that there is no international criminal court mechanism to punish polluting corporations is obscene at this day and age, especially since they have gone through such a massive extent to create these international courts.
We need to define pollution as a grave crime and not just something we need to be mindful of. We need to chase polluters like the Jews chased the Nazi Holocaust perpetrators, or how the European Union chase down tax havens. We need that same energy on this.
