February 28, 2023
We apologize for not giving our readers an update when the CMP Short Story Contest came to an end on February 14. We should not have assumed you would understand how we do things and know that they now have to be evaluated by Dr Hunte.
That’s where we’re at now, we are in the evaluation phase for the scripts. There are only 25 entries this year, well below our quota, but we appreciate all of those who have submitted and we will treat each and every entry with the respect it deserves. Dr Hunte is well qualified to pick the best winners.
This evaluation phase takes just over a month, maybe two, but with this amount of scripts, I assume she would be done in just about a month’s time. We hope to have notifications for winners by the beginning of April.
In the meantime while you wait, be on the lookout for when the CMP Poetry Contest starts again and also, we have the TropicSpin Music and Song Competition set for July 22. Stay tuned to our social media feeds for the event.
So in a nutshell this is where we are with the short story scripts. Please be patient.
Mr. Kemp, my congratulations for the work to bring the 2023 short story contest to a successful conclusion, with the certainty that a work and a winner of excellent quality will emerge. Likewise, I wish you a resounding success in the call for musicians and their works, for the Caribbean competition and, the submission to the CMP 2023 poetry contest. I’ll be waiting for the bases of the contest. With always appreciation.
Raúl Ignacio José Arana Irías, Nicaraguan poet. Greetings.
