EDITORIAL: Vice President Kamala Harris to replace President Joe Biden on election ballot

July 23, 2024

US President Joe Biden has decided not to run for re-election. He sent a note out on Sunday, confirming that he will not run for re-election. This was good news. We hated seeing him paraded out there, knowing that his mental faculties have eroded significantly.

To us, he has the appearance of someone exhibiting early onset of dementia. The staring into space, losing his train of thought and mumbling his words, having to be led for every 10 steps from hallway to hallway and losing his footing in the process. It was elder abuse.

Why would his loved ones parade him out there knowing full well he is not well. We have to pray for America.

Our thoughts is that we don’t believe the Democratic Party thought he had a strong chance of being returned to office, but in the off chance that he was against former President Donald Trump, they wanted to see if he could win and then he would not have served his final term and Kamala would have stepped in and become our first female President of the USA. This is our conspiracy theory in a nutshell.

But Kamala may mean good news for the Caribbean and Central American region. She has been a foremost supporter of Latin American and Caribbean issues. She will be a friend for the region. We wish her all the best.
