When is Haitian presidential elections going to be? Seems to us that the power’s that be have forgotten the mandate. They must not have an appreciation that the late president Moise, was assassinated in 2021. This is not 2024. Haiti needs a leader.
No amount of dysfunction and incompetence can explain this. Call for an election and let the chips fall where they may. What is the eminent group doing? Aren’t they supposed to be advising the process?
I don’t think any appreciates how much time has flown by and to still have Haiti in the same spot it was the day after Moise was assassinated, and perhaps worse.
Now the criminal gangs are growing their numbers again, this time using minors to fuel their ranks. This is just pathetic, to be totally honest with you. But, this is Haiti and there are development challenges that we already knew.
There just needs to be change. The advisory council is not there to stay on long term. Set an election date and let everyone else fall in line with it. Waiting to be ready will never make you ready.
