These Caribbean musical legends continue to dominate the airwaves in Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago, the Diaspora and indeed the world. Performers whose music wormed their way into our collective consciousness and have left us too soon.
While their legacies are assured, we must continue to pay tribute by continuing to play their music and their musical stories. These are artists who made the kind of music we love and enjoy. Musical giants that once walked the earth, their significant contributions to the Calypso Art Form must be honored. Calypsonians extraordinaires, icons, cultural performers, superb entertainers, legendary generational talents. They deserve to be more than a footnote in Calypso Music history.
They have transitioned from life to the great beyond and have left a huge vacuum, making the world a much smaller and empty place without them. Incredibly accomplished musical performers. They were unstoppable.
These memorable singers, performers and entertainers have left a void in the entertainment/musical industry by their talent, dedication, and will continue to inspire younger generations to come. As we remember these legendary artists, let us celebrate their remarkable contributions they made during their enduring career. Fans have praised their professionalism and their remarkable absence of negativity from their presence. These true professionals were a source of positive energy whenever they were on stage performing.
While their absence will continue to be felt, their uplifting attitude will always be remembered, and their legacy will always be cherished. Their spirits will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and admired them.
Finally, we bid farewell to these remarkable talents, as we honor their memories with gratitude, love and pride. Their stories of sacrifice and determination, pain and perseverance has made them a source of inspiration to all.
