Jamaican Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, in a passionate speech earlier this week warns Jamaicans to take the COVID-19 virus serious and that the government is not trying to block their liberties or suffocate them, but save their lives.
Mr Holness also said that this is not about a class war or a social war being fought on social media. Jamaica is now currently in its third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and is currently in another set of countrywide lockdowns as a attempt to curve the spread of the virus.
A video on Mr Holness’s Twitter page captures his speech.
Let us set good examples of honesty in how we re-tell stories so we do not mislead the people and create social tensions to the detriment of our people. pic.twitter.com/76DBGe9nsp
