A Bahamian singer/songwriter is debuting her new song today “Sneaky Links” on Spotify, promises to be something that pushes the provocative taboo of casual sex and sex friends.
Erica Symonette aka “Lady E,” told us about her new single that dropped today, “Sneaky Links,” telling Caribbean Magazine Plus that “this is something she knows and can write about. Every culture can identify with a Sneaky Link.”
Lady E told us about what inspired her to write and produce the song where she said, “Sneaky Link is just a little piece on the side type of vibe. I’m not a sneaky link for anybody now, but I know about it and can write about it.”
Sneaky Links was also inspired by the COVID-19 lockdowns as Lady E put it, “Everything is taboo and what’s been happening with the lockdowns is that everybody is doing what they have to do anyway, so it’s like that. It’s a controversial topic, yes it is.”
Lady E expects “big things” for her in the near future considering that she can travel now having been fully vaccinated and has a performance in Philadelphia with The Bahamas ministry of tourism and a new airlift route opening up out of Philadelphia with Frontier Airlines out from Philadelphia starting December 19. “They contacted me about going over there to sing a song for their inaugural celebration, but in the meantime I’m just releasing material.”
She also has a second single coming out later this year with Grammy award winning artist, Rik Carey from Baha Men and that song is named “Addicted,” and will be released by the end of this month.
Lady E and Rik go back many years from high school and have worked on several projects as adults and Rik often has helped Erica throughout her career.
Despite the eagerness to drop the Addicted single with Rik, the focus is now on promoting Sneaky Links, which is bound to be a Caribbean cult classic based on the material Lady E has put out before and how her style has developed over the years.
There is also a Lady E compilation album coming out by the end of this year with all of her best and choice hit songs which is becoming quite an impressive catalogue.
We can’t wait for Lady E to bless us with more music for these pandemic moments.
