The City of Miramar is gearing up for the 3rd Annual Taste of the Caribbean Islands event, hosted by Vice Mayor Alexandra P. Davis.
This year’s celebration will take place at the Miramar Region Park Amphitheater on Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. The event promises to immerse patrons in an authentic Caribbean experience with international artists and chefs showcasing the best of the islands.
Attendees can look forward to a vibrant lineup of entertainment, featuring steel drum music, Moko Jumbies, a Junkanoo band, and other live performances. This year’s event will also celebrate 50 years of Grenada’s Independence with live cooking demonstrations, art and book displays, and Caribbean food samples.

“Taste of the Caribbean Islands is an event that brings together the culture, language, art, music, and experience of a people under one roof. It is a must-attend event for the folks that appreciate all that makes up our Caribbean islands. We have something for everyone to include face painting and balloon art for the kids as well as an onsite pop-up art gallery and book fair, which will include book readings. The evening will close out with the pulsating rhythms of the islands. We are encouraging everyone to come out to this highly anticipated family event,” said Vice Mayor Alexandra P. Davis.
An exciting lineup of artists
This year’s event will feature an exciting lineup of live performances by internationally acclaimed artists, including Farmer Nappy, Gem Myers, Visions Band, and Alomake Latin Band.
DJ Fergie will keep the energy high, spinning the hottest tracks to keep the crowd dancing. Attendees will also be treated to the captivating sounds of steel drum music and the mesmerizing performances of the Moko Jumbies. Chefs will be on hand to prepare delectable dishes for the audience, ensuring a true taste of the Caribbean.
