Sausage Filled Pastry

2 C All – Purpose Flour

2 Tbs. Baking Powder

1/4 C White Cane Sugar

1/4 Tsp. Salt

2 – 3 C Water

1 Box Breakfast Sausage Links – (cooked and cooked)

In a large bowl, mix dry ingredients.  Slowly add in water.  If mixture is too loose – adjust flour.  Mix until smooth; removing any excess batter from the side of the bowl.  Once the batter is fully combined – proceed to knead.  Cover the bowl and allow the dough to rest for 30 – 45 minutes.

Preheat deep fryer to 350°

Cut and roll the dough into small balls and set on a baking tray…allow to rest for 15 – 20 minutes.  Knead balls into 4 inch discs.  Place 1 sausage link in each disc and fold sides together to seal.  

Deep fry for about 3 – 5 minutes or until dough is thoroughly cooked and golden brown.  Sprinkle onion salt on the pastry and serve hot.
