What do you get when you meld a British woman with Barbadian roots, with energy healer, author and entrepreneur? You get Esther Austin, a refreshing spirit in this wasteland of life.
Ms Austin is an author, businesswoman, energy healer and Barbadian by heritage, all amazing as she spoke to Caribbean Magazine plus about what she has been up to in the United Kingdom and how her Caribbean roots have put her in a unique place where she can sense how people need to move their lives forward.
Esther told us she is a transformation leader. Under this umbrella she is an energy healer. “It’s just something that I’ve been from birth, it’s one of those things. I very much believe in the power of the mind, and how we can get over things, how we can move through life, without sometimes feeling the victim, without carrying out pain, but also without allowing things to impact us so much that we lose ourselves.” It’s not an easy process, but it’s possible. There is a saying, the graveyard is a very rich place because it is filed with people’s dreams. So unless we can work through what has hindered us in the past, often times we end up loosing our dreams and settling for second best in life.
She also said that persons that have inspired her are Dr Maya Angelou and Oprah Winfrey. She said these women helped her to see life differently, because they teach us tools and an understanding of why certain people succeed and get over their hurdles and others who don’t.
She also told us, “I guess I’ve always been drawn to understanding why things and life the way they do. When you observe people, humanity and even your own life, you realize maybe there are certain patterns that keep repeating themselves and certain types of relationships you keep attracting, and then you realize when you start to look into things like, Anthony Robbins one of America’s great motivational speakers, even with Oprah and Dr. Maya Angelo, and you start to look into their way of thinking and you realize it makes sense. We are accountable many times for what shows up in our world and this is said without judgement. So then, we have to seek the support, or the tools to help us navigate life better and/or differently?”
We asked her what would she advise people to do if they want to change their mindset and their life around. She told us: “Oftentimes to tell someone what they’re going through and for them to recognize it, is not easy. People connect with other people’s stories, others who have or are going through what they are going through, they need that reflector to have their Ahaa! moment “this is what is happening to me.”
“So I often point them in the direction of YouTube or certain books to look at the bodies of work by people such as Dr. Wayne Dyer, or Louise Hay because when they watch these videos there is the chance for them to see a reflection of themselves so they are now able to identify what they’re going through.”
She also said that by asking questions in a certain way causes individuals to stop and think about their situation differently as often times, many people have never been asked ‘how they are feeling?’ This then gives Esther, as the practitioner, the opportunity to engage in a trusted conversation in order to begin a proper evaluation for delivering support to someone in need of guidance.
The key to creating and living a life with a freedom mindset comes from the ability to recognize that one needs to do personal development work on themselves. When you make a decision that “I want to do something different, I want to move forward, I want to change this, something happens to support that process to happen and you can then go on your own life adventure of self-discovery,” said Esther.
Her way of thinking has empowered her to set high goals for herself in 2021 as Esther wants her own television station which she said is in the works and she also wants her magazine, “TurningPoint: Your Lifestyle, Your Well-Being” to have a high placement on shelves around the world. She has set high goals for herself in 2021 and no pandemic will hold her back. Esther has a different way of thinking and it is powering her forward.
